How to send email reminders for Google Calendar events
There are two common ways to email a reminder before a Google Calendar event. Both work — they just fit different needs.
1. A Zapier Zap. You can build an automation that fires a set time before an event and sends an email. It's flexible, but the reminder comes from a zapiermail.com address (not you), you configure a fixed recipient rather than each guest, you build and maintain the Zap, and the free tier caps you at a few emails a day.
2. A purpose-built extension. CalConfirm adds a "Send reminder 24h before" checkbox to the Google Calendar event editor. Check it, choose which guests get it, and it emails them a personal reminder from your own Gmail — no Zap to build, and it re-times itself if you move the meeting.
If you want general-purpose automations, Zapier is great. If you specifically want your guests reminded, in your voice, with one click, the extension is the simpler path.
